Overview DecisionPoint seeks a Senior Database Administrator to provide enterprise-wide leadership of database operations supporting a major federal and DoD-aligned mission environment. This role oversees secure hosting of IL5-compliant database platforms, ensuring optimal performance, schema governance, RMF control alignment, and full integration with the SDLC, DevSecOps, and application development teams. The Senior DBA is responsible for database engineering, performance tuning, replication, failover strategies, backup and recovery, and vulnerability remediation while leading a technical team of database administrators. This role ensures the reliability, resilience, and security of mission-critical data systems across multiple environments. This position is fully remote. Duties & Responsibilities Provide senior-level leadership over database operations, engineering, and administration in IL5 cloud and on-premise environments. Oversee schema governance, indexing strategies, data modeling, and optimization for performance and scalability. Ensure database platforms comply with DoD security requirements, RMF controls, STIG baselines, and audit readiness. Lead performance tuning efforts, query optimization, and troubleshooting of complex database issues. Manage backup, recovery, replication, clustering, and failover strategies to support high availability. Coordinate with DevSecOps engineers on database integration within CI/CD pipelines. Support secure SDLC
