API Test Engineer Job Title: API Test Engineer Experience: 1–5 Years Job Type: Full-Time Work Mode: 100% Remote Location: Dallas, Austin, Chicago, NYC Salary: $75,000–$140,000 per year Eligibility: Candidates must currently reside in the United States. Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented API Test Engineer with experience in REST API testing, Postman, SQL, and test automation. The ideal candidate will ensure API reliability, functionality, performance, and data accuracy while collaborating with development and QA teams in an Agile environment. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and execute API test cases for RESTful services. Perform functional, integration, regression, and negative testing. Use Postman to create and manage API collections and automated test scripts. Validate API responses, HTTP status codes, headers, and JSON payloads. Write SQL queries to verify backend data and database integrity. Automate API tests using JavaScript or relevant testing frameworks. Identify, document, track, and troubleshoot defects. Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, and business analysts. Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous testing practices. Required Skills 1–5 years of experience in API testing or software quality assurance. Strong knowledge of REST APIs, HTTP methods, and status codes. Hands-on experience with Postman.
